Hailing from a family whose lineage has been deeply entrenched in the Indian Army, a few things become second nature: Respect for individual and the individual’s time and discipline. It builds into you a certain character and this in turn helps build a strong personality and temperament. I owe this to my elders, specially my Dad who has been a highly decorated General of the Indian Army and a greatly respected soul. Its this humble nature and calmness to situations which I got in my genes and I must confess it has made me what I am today. Having travelled and lived pretty much the length and breadth of this Country, it has brought me closer to its people, traits, culture and definitely the many languages that follow. So as a growing up kid I picked up Bengali and Nepalese, which besides Hindi and English have been for me my growing up languages. As I hail from the Princely state of Rajasthan, Rajasthani or Marwari as we call it, comes naturally to me. My work and travels helped me pick up French in the initial years of my work in the Travel & Tourism Industry. So my eyes and ears have been open to all impacts as a kid and even now. With these essential traits, it was but natural for me to find a recourse in travel, which I did in 1989.
