The annual cattle fair takes place at Pushkar. Since in India we follow a Lunar calendar, the dates change every year. So pretty much Oct-Nov is when the fair takes place. Its essentially farmers exchanging or selling cattle during this time. Tourists have been known to flock this fair since decades and its become a place to be at during the fair time. Pushkar is also known as the only place in India for the Brahma Temple. Brahma is creator God according to Hindu mythology. Some 13 kms away is also Ajmer, hope to the Dargah of Chisty Family. Both very sacred places of worship for Hindus and Muslims.
